Yoko Taro (NieR) has worked on many projects in recent years, but many have been canceled

He’s just unlucky

It was Yoko Taro who said this without embarrassment during an interview with 4Gamer (relayed and translated by Automaton), alongside Hideki Kamiya from the Clovers studio. Here he responded to a little joke known among his fans, which said that “ Yoko Taro never works “, due to the absence of a new game Deny main on consoles (or another large-scale project). Something obviously false which he wishes to rectify, by indicating that he does indeed work on lots of projects, but many of them get canceled :

People often say to me: “Why don’t you make a new sequel to NieR?” or “Yoko Taro doesn’t do anything”, but that’s because recently a lot of projects I’ve been involved with have been abandoned mid-development. However, I continued to work on certain projects, but they never saw the light of day. I got paid for it, so personally I don’t have a problem with it, but people seem to think I don’t do anything just because none of my work gets published. »

Bad luck for Yoko Taro, although he seems to be quite comfortable with it. We will undoubtedly soon find him at the head of a new Denywhich has little chance of being canceled. At least, we hope so.
