On December 10, Pokémon Legends ZA players will be able to dive into Mega Dimensionthe first official DLC for the game. Nintendo introduces a location never before seen in the franchise: Hyperspace Lumiosean alternate version of Illumis that houses creatures with heightened powers.
The description of the trailer is clear: “At first glance, Hyperspace Lumiose may look like the real Lumiose, but it’s a very different place. Not only are there Pokémon not found in Illumis, but these Pokémon can also reach hyperspace levels that take their total level beyond the normal limit of 100, making them truly overpowered.”
New Exclusive Mega Evolutions
The DLC also adds several new Mega-Evolved forms, some of which have never been revealed before. In particular, we will discover Mega Chimecho And Mega Baxcaliburthe latter being accessible via an exclusive Mega-Gem distributed during the season 4 of online ranked fights.
Trainers who have followed previous events in the game will recognize the format, as similar Mega Gems had already been offered for Mega Greninja, Mega Gelphox And Mega Chesnaught. We must therefore expect a reinforced competitive format, with a real hunt for evolution objects.
A DLC that already divides
Announced in September, Mega Dimension surprised with its speed of release… and its price. At $30, the DLC carries the total cost of the game on Switch 2 at 100 dollars for players who have not yet purchased the base title. This price raises questions in the community, even if the content announced seems to justify part of the investment.
At the same time, Nintendo also released a post-launch patch to fix several bugs affecting ranked combat. An approach which shows that the firm closely monitors the balancing of its flagship game.
