Play without worrying about your PS5
Considered too dependent on your PS5, the PlayStation Portal received some criticism upon its release. Sony then announced that it was working on a way to stream your PS5 games directly in cloud gaming, in order to let your PS5 rest, while becoming a more autonomous accessory. This update is upon us, as it will arrive tomorrow, November 6, around 3 p.m. (Paris time).
By downloading it, your PlayStation Portal will be able to access thousands of compatible cloud games, including those present in PlayStation Plus Premium. So you will no longer need to remotely turn on your PS5. With this update, the entire interface of the accessory will also be redesigned, with a Remote Play tab (to play in a traditional way linked to your PS5) and a tab for cloud gaming, in order to enjoy compatible games. To find the list of games available in the cloud, you can consult it on the official PlayStation website.
We will also find some improvements including 3D audio, password lock, in-game store during streaming and accessibility options, such as text size. In short, PlayStation Portal as it should have been sold in the first place.
