GT6: the opening mission of the Rockstar game becomes a little more precise

GTA 6 could well open with a storm, literally and figuratively. The two trailers released by Rockstar Games have ignited the imagination of players, who see in them the first clues of an introduction as immersive as it is memorable. Far from being trivial, certain plans suggest a vigorous start, in a wild meteorological atmosphere.

Announced for May 26, 2026this highly anticipated new opus intends to raise the bar even higher, both narratively and technically. True to form, Rockstar distils the information little by little. And it is precisely this vagueness that fuels fan theories, convinced that GTA 6 will open with a heist in the pouring rain, in the shoes of Jason, one of the two protagonists of the game.

An opening mission under the storm?

This scenario didn’t come out of nowhere. In the forums as in the YouTube videos, fans are relying on a very specific detail from the second trailer: we see Jason repairing the roof of his house, as if he had just suffered the consequences of a storm. For many, this shot would be linked to an intense introductory sequence, a cross between action and tutorial.

A start in chaos would quickly lay the foundations of the gameplay while immersing the player in the game universe. A mechanic well known to Rockstar regulars, already used in GTA V with the North Yankton heist.

Jason and Lucia, between ruins and reconstruction

But beyond the spectacular, the elements spotted in the trailers suggest a more intimate narrative. The duo formed by Jason and Lucia seems at the heart of the story, and the storm could symbolize more than a simple climatic phenomenon. The fact that Jason is renovating his house could reflect a desire to repair something even deeper: his relationship with Lucia, recently released from prison.

A fan analyzes this scene as a metaphor: rebuilding a roof after a storm is also trying to pick up the pieces of a damaged couple. A reading that would fit perfectly with Rockstar’s desire to explore more personal and emotional themes, without denying its criminal and spectacular DNA.

A demonstration of technical strength from the first minutes

Starting GTA 6 in a storm would also be a showcase for the game’s graphics engine. Lighting, fluid management, material behavior: extreme weather from the introduction would give Rockstar the opportunity to show the extent of its technical know-how. The studio has always been known for its vibrant open worlds, but it might just take a new step here.

Fans are convinced: each image in the trailer is carefully thought out to sow clues. A specialized media outlet recently highlighted this, explaining that players were relying on what Rockstar had decided to show in the second trailer. A subtle way of teasing the ambition of the game, without ever revealing anything explicitly.
