A video game classic rising from the grave

For those who discover this cult license today, know that Plants vs. Zombies is based on a very accessible concept: defending your garden against an army of undead by placing plants with varied powers. A fairly simple idea on paper, but which gave birth to a real phenomenon. At the crossroads of tower defense and real-time strategy game, the title offers a fairly addictive gameplay loop. Namely, place plants to stop the progression of zombies on several lines of attack.

Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted picks up the original 2009 campaign, adding new bonus levels, modes like “Cloudy Skies” (with limited sunshine) or “Rest in Peace” (permadeath mode) as well as local cooperative and PvP options. Beyond its mechanics, the charm of the game also lies in its absurd and colorful universe. The cartoonish animations, humor and artistic direction undeniably helped to attract fans.
