Ubisoft’s feudal Japan continues to expand its empire. Released last March on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is now preparing to join a platform that many have been waiting for: the Nintendo Switch 2. And these are not speculations. Two leaks, one of which is very detailed, point to a very real release, scheduled for the end of 2025.
The first alert came from a product page published by mistake on the French Auchan site. It clearly mentioned a port of the game to Nintendo’s future hybrid console, without saying more. But it was a second leak that raised the temperature: the very reliable insider billbil-kun revealed crucial new information.
Date, price, and format: everything is already known
According to revelations published on Dealabs, Assassin’s Creed Shadows would be expected in France on December 5, 2025 on Nintendo Switch 2in one version physical sold around €50. But this version will not be completely classic: the game would be delivered on a “game key” type cardwhich means players will have to download it after purchase.
THE pre-orders should open before November 7always according to the same sources. As for the official announcement, it is, in all likelihood, imminent.
“Naturally, despite the probable accuracy of this leak, we must wait for an official announcement to be clear about it” specified billbil-kun.
Shadows already enriched with massive DLC
Since its release, Assassin’s Creed Shadows was not idle. The title immerses players in a feudal Japan with two faces, embodied by Naoea shinobi specializing in discretion, and Yasukea samurai with a more frontal style. In September, the game was enriched with a Major DLC, The Claws of Awajiadding 10 hours of contenta new weaponand new capabilities.
Ubisoft thus continues to develop the universe of this highly anticipated iteration, which had already surprised with its narrative approach and its artistic direction. An adaptation on Switch 2 would only strengthen its reach to an even wider audience.
