Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy, a new spin-off set in modern Tokyo, comes to mobile

It’s fashion hell

Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy was revealed today via a first trailer, and it carries with it all the stigma of a spin-off that will have a short life, like so many other Square Enix mobile games. The basic principle remains the same, namely that of crossing the different episodes of the saga, but this new episode decides to place all our protagonists in the middle of a modern Tokyo. Find out if the influence Kingdom Hearts is there or not.

A context which thus allows our heroes to swap their iconic outfits for more fashionable and contemporary clothes. Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy undoubtedly wants to seduce those who love collaborations between the greats of the fashion world and Final Fantasylike when Lightning became the face of Louis Vuitton.

Beyond the outfits to collect in what we imagine to be a gacha, the game is presented as a Battle Arena with teams of three characters. But the first teaser ultimately shows little gameplay apart from our characters’ special attacks. We also see that large, more common illustrations for the series, such as those by Yoshitaka Amano, will be unlockable. Among the playable characters already confirmed, we find Cloud, Kain, Terra, Djidane, Lightning or even Prompto, and others are arriving, like Clive.

A beta test of the game will take place soon, but this will be reserved for the United States and Canada. Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy expected to be released in 2026 on iOS and Android.
