Surprise for fans: “Fairy Tail” returns earlier

The return of the “Fairy Tail” manga comes earlier than originally planned, as the start of the new mini-series has now been brought forward. We summarize.

A week earlier

As the editorial team of “Weekly Shonen Magazine” recently announced, “Fairy Tail” will return on July 29, 2026 in issue 35/2026 of the magazine – a week earlier than initially announced.

The reasons given for this were internal scheduling and mangaka Hiro Mashima’s rapid progress in completing the manuscripts.

The new mini-series is being created as part of the 20th anniversary of “Fairy Tail” and tells a new story about Natsu and the members of the well-known magic guild.

It will be particularly interesting for long-time fans of the series that Hiro Mashima will be taking over the drawings himself again, after entrusting this task to Atsuo Ueda for the sequel manga “100 Years Quest,” which started in July 2018.

The original “Fairy Tail” manga appeared in “Weekly Shonen Magazine” from August 2006 to July 2017 and was collected into a total of 63 anthologies. The anime adaptation counts 328 episodes as well as several specials and films.
