Samsung is preparing a new Galaxy S27 Pro and it could replace part of the Ultra

For several years, the premium range of Samsung is limited to three models, despite a failed attempt with the Galaxy S25 Edge. The first leaks from South Korea, however, announce a major turning point: a fourth model, the Galaxy S27 Prowould come between the Plus and the Ultra.

According to the South Korean media ETNewsThis Galaxy S27 Pro would take up most of the characteristics of the future Galaxy S27 Ultrabut without the stylus S Pen and possibly in a more compact format. Enough to promise an “Ultra” experience at a more accessible price, to the point of making some traditional Ultra buyers hesitate.

Galaxy S27 Pro: why is Samsung preparing a quasi-Galaxy S27 Ultra without S Pen?

According to ETNews, Samsung would launch four versions in 2027: Galaxy S27S27+, S27 Pro and S27 Ultra. A strategy which is strongly reminiscent of that of Apple with its four main iPhones, and which should allow the Korean manufacturer to better segment its high-end while increasing its average selling price.

This is not the first time that the brand has searched for the right “fourth model”. THE Galaxy S25 Edge was abandoned after a single test, and a project of Galaxy S26 Pro would have been just a simple renamed S26. This time, the sources describe a Galaxy S27 Pro designed from the start as a device in its own right.

Galaxy S27 Pro vs Galaxy S27 Ultra: which premium features would be shared?

According to initial information, the Galaxy S27 Pro would share almost all of its technical sheet with the Galaxy S27 Ultrawith the exception of S Pen and, perhaps, a slightly smaller screen. It would also recover the confidentiality screen inaugurated on the Galaxy S26 Ultracapable of reducing viewing angles to limit prying eyes in the metro or in open space.

Another important promise: the arrival on the Galaxy S27 Pro of the 200 megapixel main camera and the 5x telephoto lens already reserved for current Ultra models. Concretely, this means more detailed shots for cropping, an optical zoom useful in concerts or when traveling, and a real increase in photo power for those who were not ready to pay the high price of the Ultra.

Galaxy S27 Pro: for which users could it replace the Galaxy S27 Ultra?

The withdrawal of S Pen is not trivial: by removing the stylus housing and the associated digitizer under the screen, Samsung saves space internally and reduces production costs. Likely result, a Galaxy S27 Pro thinner, lighter and positioned at a lower price, while the Ultra would go up a notch to maximize the profitability of the range.

For many French buyers who today choose an Ultra mainly for its screen, its performance and its photo, but never use the S PenThis Galaxy S27 Pro could become the most logical option. The Ultra would then keep a more niche role, focused on absolute fans of the stylus and certain professionals, while the Pro would capture part of its traditional audience. The range Galaxy S27 however, remains at least nine months from its launch, leaving Samsung time to adjust your plan.
