The Final Fantasy IX animated series is reportedly back in production with a 10-episode first season


The black magicians at the heart of this adaptation

Despite the closure of Cyber ​​Group Studios, the animated series Final Fantasy IX did not seem to be completely buried since the French magazine Écran Total affirmed that the Euro Visual group had taken back control. Something which is today confirmed via the company’s website, as relayed by RPG Site, since we see the series being listed with a first conceptual image, and above all, a synopsis.

This series of 10 episodes (22 minutes) will therefore not resume the journey of Zidane/Djidane and company but should be interested in the descendants of Vivi/Bibi, since we will follow her children who will be the last black magicians :

Imel, Köln, Luciola, Théa, Fala and Doc, children of the hero Bibi, are the last black mages of the four continents. Today, they live happily in the city of Alexandria, guarded by its rather friendly, although sometimes very curious, inhabitants. Unfortunately, this peaceful existence was not to last… One day, Köln discovers Imel, frozen like a statue, in the inn where he works. Could it be their father’s tragic legacy that catches up with them? »

Titled Final Fantasy: Black Mages Legacythis series does not yet have a broadcast date, although rumors spoke of 2028. The wait will still be a little long, but the project still exists.
