Microsoft continues to expand its Xbox Game Pass subscription service with the arrival of new games in March. Among them is a particularly anticipated title: Cyberpunk 2077the famous futuristic RPG developed by CD Projekt Red.
Released in December 2020, the game had a very controversial launch due to numerous technical issues, especially on previous generation consoles. Despite this difficult start, the Polish studio worked for several years to improve the experience.
Today, Cyberpunk 2077 is considered by many to be one of the richest single-player RPGs available on the market. Its arrival in the Xbox Game Pass catalog therefore marks an important moment for subscribers of the service.
Cyberpunk 2077 finally joins the Game Pass catalog
More than five years after its release, Cyberpunk 2077 is now coming to Xbox Game Pass. The game is accessible to subscribers Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass Premiumwho can play it on console or via the cloud. However, the title is not available in the catalog PC Game Pass.
The reason is simple: Cyberpunk 2077 was never released on the Microsoft Storewhich prevents its full integration into the service’s PC ecosystem. Despite this limitation, the arrival of the game represents an excellent opportunity for players who have not yet tried this futuristic adventure.
An RPG that has made an impressive comeback
When it was released in 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 attracted a lot of criticism. The PS4 and Xbox One versions suffered from significant technical problems, which significantly tarnished the game’s image. CD Projekt Red, however, invested a lot of resources to correct the situation. In total, more than $125 million would have been spent on updates and improvements to the game.
This work has borne fruit. Today, Cyberpunk 2077 benefits from very positive evaluations from players, particularly on Steam. One player sums up the game’s transformation this way: “After all the updates, it’s become one of the most complete RPGs I’ve played.”
Impressive commercial success
The game’s gradual rehabilitation also resulted in lasting commercial success. By the end of 2025, Cyberpunk 2077 had exceeded 35 million copies sold in the world. This figure places it among the best-selling games of the 2020s. Only a few major titles did better over the same period, including:
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Hogwarts Legacy
- Elden Ring
These performances show that the game has managed to regain players’ trust over time.
Another game is also joining the service
In addition to Cyberpunk 2077, Microsoft is also adding Construction Simulator in the Xbox Game Pass catalog. This simulation game allows players to manage construction sites using realistic machines. Released in 2022, the title has accumulated several thousand positive reviews on Steam. Unlike Cyberpunk 2077, Construction Simulator is available on console, cloud and PCwhich makes it accessible to a larger number of subscribers.
New games coming soon
The arrival of these two titles marks the sixth and seventh additions in the Game Pass catalog for the month of March. More games are expected to join the service in the coming weeks. Among them are:
- DreamWorks Gabby’s Dollhouse: Ready to Party
- Nova Roma
- Replaced
- Forza Horizon 6
These new features show that Microsoft continues to regularly strengthen the Game Pass offering. Despite the departure of several games scheduled for mid-March, the catalog should continue to grow with new releases and regular additions. For subscribers, this means one thing above all: even more games to discover in the coming weeks.
