The future of Xbox is just around the corner
Via a brief teaser broadcast on the networks, Project Helix was revealed for the first time. This is the code name designating the future of the brand’s hardware. An announcement that would be enough to make people roll their eyes as the timing and priority does not seem conducive to the start of communication about a new console, even if we are obviously talking about a more or less distant future.
Asha Sharma, newly appointed president of Xbox, obviously published a post on social networks to accompany the announcement:
Project Helix will deliver peak performance and be compatible with your Xbox and PC games. I look forward to discussing this in more detail with our partners and the studios at my first GDC next week!
A console that plays Xbox and PC games could be reminiscent of the famous Steam Deck-style console which, unlike the ROG Xbox Ally, would be in-house. But, of course, Project Helix is something else and concerns a premium console succeeding the Xbox Series, enjoying a partnership with AMD.
Remember that the rumors surrounding it do not date from today and mentioned the fact that it runs under Windows, which would help to make the border between Xbox and PC even more invisible, all boosted by AI, at the heart of the brand’s development strategy led by Satya Nadella. And we should therefore find out more during GDC 2026.
