“Demon Slayer” receives special prize at the Japan Academy Film Awards


The Japan Academy Film Prize Association recently honored “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” with the “Creative Contribution Award.” We summarize.

Technical achievements honored

The “Creative Contribution Award” honors technical achievements and other special achievements by filmmakers behind the scenes. At the 49th Japan Academy Film Awards, ufotable’s digital imaging team was recognized for their work on the first part of the “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” series.

The winners of the “Awards of Excellence” were also revealed, including “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle”, “Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc”, “100 Meters”, “Peleliu: Guernica of Paradise” and “Detective Conan: The Flashback of the One-Eyed Man”, all of which are also nominated in the “Best Animated Film” category.

Who will take home the coveted prize will be announced on March 13, 2026 at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa in Tokyo. As usual, we will of course keep you up to date with all the latest news.
