Sarah Bond publishes her first message since her resignation, to say goodbye to the teams

The ex-number 1 in the making speaks out

Seeing that Sarah Bond’s name was almost non-existent in Microsoft’s recent statements – apart from that of Phil Spencer – was strange to say the least. Unlike her colleagues and bosses, Sarah Bond obviously did not want to express herself via an email sent internally to the teams, but she still sent them a note via LinkedIn.

In this long message, the one we saw taking up the torch after Phil Spencer expresses all her gratitude to the teams for these last years, indicating that he wanted to move on to a new stage in his life :

I decided that the time had come for me to take the next step, both personally and professionally. We are living in a transformative technological era that will shape the future of our industry, and I am excited about what the future holds. This moment also offers a unique opportunity to bring fresh perspective and new leadership to guide the team into this new chapter. I had the privilege of spending time with Asha over the past few weeks as we prepared for this transition, and I saw first-hand her deep commitment to our players, our developers, and our brand. She brings a strong background in technology and business, as well as a proven track record of building platforms used around the world. Xbox deserves this. I’m excited to see her lead this new chapter for our team. I will remain as a special advisor to Asha to facilitate a smooth transition and prepare the organization for continued success. »

Like Spencer, she will therefore remain for some time as an advisor to the group, even if this should be discreet. It is now unclear where she will bounce next.
