Marvel’s Wolverine release date leaked on the PS Store, it’s becoming clearer

It’s on the Latin American version of PlayStation Store that a major element has been spotted: the highly anticipated Marvel’s Wolverine is listed there for release at third quarter 2026. Information missing from the North American store, where the game is still announced for “fall 2026”. But crossing these two windows, a month naturally stands out: september.

This seems all the more credible as the month of September corresponds to the launch of the very first Marvel’s Spider-Manin 2018. The sequels have certainly been postponed to the fall, but this return to September would offer strategic positioning in 2026 for Sony.

Wolverine, a juggernaut from Insomniac

Developed by Insomniac Games (already in charge of Spider-Man), Marvel’s Wolverine is shaping up to be one of the biggest PlayStation blockbusters of the year. The game will allow you to embody Loganiconic member of the X-Men, in a brutal solo adventure, with fights against Omega Red, Mysticaland potentially appearances of Jean Gray, Daredevil Or She-Hulk.

The story will also explore the Canadian wilderness that the city of Madripoorwell known to Marvel fans. The studio is banking on gameplay that is more nervous and visceral than that of Spider-Man, in keeping with the personality of the clawed mutant.

Why September would be a perfect date

The choice of September could respond to a major strategic constraint: avoid crossing the path of GTA 6, expected on November 19, 2026. No publisher wants to release an important game in the shadow of this announced phenomenon.

By launching Wolverine early, Sony could benefit from a clear month, between Saros in April (by Housemarque) and titles like Phantom Blade 0 Or Halloween: The Game in September, which do not target the same audience. The launch in September would thus offer optimal visibilityjust before the start of the school year and well before the arrival of the Rockstar bulldozer.

An ideal window… if the game is ready

Nothing has been officially confirmed yet. Sony remains tight-lipped on the exact date, and the “Q3 2026” mention on the PlayStation Store could be changed at any time. But Insomniac has a habit of respecting its schedules, and a release in September seems entirely plausible, both for reasons of studio tradition than business strategy.

All that remains is to hope that this leak is confirmed in the months to come. Because for Logan fans, the wait becomes almost as fierce as the hero himself.
