We call it Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 by use and by lack of real title, but this last episode would have finally found its definitive title if we are to believe its director. Something that was not yet set in stone last fall:
“ I remember an interview I gave at Paris Games Week, where I explained that we had narrowed the list down to two names. It was up to Mr. Nomura to decide. And yes, after our return from Paris Games Week, he made his choice. I can therefore say that the title has definitely been awarded. »
Here again, all bets are off even if the so perfect nickname of “ Meeting » seems to be out of contention, given that it was already used for the remaster of Crisis Core. “ Return » is logically the one that comes up the most in speculation, and we should be clear on this subject fairly quickly. If only because development is progressing well, to the point where the game would be playable internally :
“ We have stuck to a schedule and I think we are meeting the planned deadlines. So I’m very grateful to the development team and have immense respect for their work on this project. I believe the game is technically playable, but we continue to improve it in order to achieve an optimal level of quality for our players. »
And if development is progressing well, it is above all because the team chose to stay on Unreal Engine 4the driving force behind the other two episodes, rather than moving on to the fifth iteration which is so popular today. The director explains why:
“ We were using Unreal Engine 4, but we made many changes to it to adapt it to our needs. It is more beneficial to have a tool that we already know and that we have customized to meet our needs. »
Good news, which is accompanied by some comments on the mini-games that we will find in this third adventure. The famous Queen’s Blood will make its return, this time with major improvements, while the snowboard mini-game Final Fantasy VII original will be integrated in a way that makes sense:
“ Snowboarding! It’s an element that evokes very fond memories among fans! Unfortunately, I can’t go into too much detail, but we do know that this isn’t going to be a simple snowboarding mini-game. We want to make sure it’s fully integrated into the story and connected with the theme. »
It remains to be seen when this Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 will be presented, but we can bet that this year will be the good one, with a release that could be planned for next year.
