After a break at the end of last year, the developers of Battlefield 6 launched the update 1.1.3.5 January 20, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Long-awaited, this update does not disrupt the content or game modes, but it brings a series of profound changes aimed at improving the daily gaming experiencenotably in multiplayer and the free‑to‑play REDSEC mode.
Attention is paid to the fluidity of the gameplay, the balancing of aerial combat, the consistency of damage and animations, as well as the user interface. Player feedback over the past few months has guided these adjustments, which shows that teams are continuing to refine the game after launch.
More responsive close-quarters combat and revamped aerial balancing
One of the strong points of this update concerns the fights in hand to hand and aerial clashes. The developers have changed the way melee attacks work: knife and hammer attack speed has been improved, and damage consistency has been increased. Additionally, the sprint interruption no longer occurs during the entire animation, but only until the attack hits its target, making duels more precise and less frustrating.
Jet fights have also been adjusted. Plane and helicopter cannons now deal less damage, meaning you have to more shots to bring down an enemy aircraft. This change aims to reduce the impact of air forces in multiplayer games, to promote more balanced clashes between all classes and vehicles.
Interface, lighting and gadget improvements
Update 1.1.3.5 doesn’t stop at pure gameplay. It also brings several visual and interface tweaks to make the experience clearer and more pleasant. An option now allows you to choose reticle color for compatible weapons, including thermal scopes. This provides welcome visual customization to better suit different gaming styles or lighting conditions.
Other elements, such as weapon menushave been fixed to display more accurate reload information. Soldier 3D models and ladder behavior have been overhauled: characters now climb ladders more naturally, and bugs that prevented access to ladders have been fixed.
Various bug fixes and stability of game modes
Finally, the update fixes a long series of bugs reported since launch. Among them:
- unexpected vehicle explosions during certain interactions,
- weapon accessories that did not display the correct bonuses,
- inconsistencies in the statistics displayed on the HUD.
In the mode REDSEC (free‑to‑play battle royale), several issues have also been addressed, including inconsistencies in movement speed after jumping or incorrect icons on the armor bar. These fixes aim to improve the stability of the game while reducing unforeseen elements that could bother players.
