Assassin’s Creed II recreated under Unreal Engine 5, the video for the 2026 remake ignites fans

Since its release in 2009, Assassin’s Creed II marked an entire generation of players. Fifteen years later, the magic still happens, revived by a fan creation that leaves you speechless. Thanks to an impressive technical demo under Unreal Engine 5, the dream of a larger-than-life remake seems closer… even if Ubisoft has not yet confirmed it.

It was the YouTube channel Digital Dreams which uploaded this visual slap: a modern reconstruction of Venice, one of the emblematic settings of the game, in a breathtaking level of detail. The ultra-realistic textures, dynamic reflections on the channels and depth of field make this demo a real fantasy for fans of the license.

An intact nostalgia for Ezio and his era

Released in 2009 on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, Assassin’s Creed II is often considered the pinnacle of the series. It is in this episode that Ezio Auditore da Firenze appears, an emblematic character with unparalleled charisma. The story, Italian Renaissance atmosphere and stealth-focused gameplay left a lasting imprint on players’ memories.

Ubisoft then continued the episodes until 2015 at an annual rate, with drifts towards action-RPG which divided the community. However, Ezio’s name remains on everyone’s lips when it comes to bringing the saga back to life.

And even if no official remake ofAssassin’s Creed II isn’t planned yet, some fans aren’t just hoping. Under the video published by Digital Dreams, the comments are getting carried away. “It’s so beautiful”writes mark_delight. “I thought you modded Assassin’s Creed II. What an amazing view, man!”exclaims LolmenTV. For JTL1776, the message is clear: “Assassin’s Creed [original] needs a remake”.

Why Ubisoft would be wise to answer the call

At a time when the studio is preparing, according to certain sources, a remake ofAssassin’s Creed IV: Black Flagfans’ nostalgia for the Ezio trilogy continues unabated. If the rumors around a remake ofAssassin’s Creed II remain non-existent to date, the potential is undeniable. The success of the Digital Dreams video demonstrates a real expectation and a collective desire to return to this prosperous era with the visual standards of 2026.

The demo, it is true, uses static NPCs, which optimizes performance, but that does not detract from the beauty of the whole thing. It’s easy to imagine Ezio jumping from roof to roof, sword in hand, in this sparkling, realistic Venice. For Ubisoft, the ball is in the court. And for fans, hope is more alive than ever.
