Dramatic twist a few months before the release of IO Interactive’s next blockbuster. Announced for May 27, 2026, 007 First Light recently saw his PC requirements fixed after much criticism from the community. The Danish studio, known for the series Hitmanpublished a patch on X (formerly Twitter) to detail the changes.
Among the major adjustments: “Recommended RAM has been reduced from 32 GB to 16 GB” – a decision welcomed by many players, who were worried about having to change their configuration. Likewise, “The VRAM has also been reduced for both configurations”, making the game more accessible to mid-range PCs.
A “problematic” processor corrected
The most notable error was regarding the minimum CPU. IO Interactive had initially listed an “Intel Core i5 9500K” (the “K” being problematic), causing misunderstanding. The suffix “K” designates an overclockable processor, but not very common in standard configurations. This mention has been removed, clarifying things for players. The minimum configuration now includes a i5 9500 or Ryzen 5 3500associated with a GTX 1660 or RX 5700with 16 GB of RAM. Objective : 1080p at 30 FPS.
60 FPS recommended, but on more modest hardware
The recommended configuration is also intended to be reassuring. There we find a i5 13500 or Ryzen 5 7600with a RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XTalways with 16 GB of RAMto achieve 60 FPS at 1080p. The game will require 80 GB of disk spacewhich remains average for recent AAAs.

However, everything is not yet fixed. IO specifies that “other performance objectives will be communicated later, closer to the release of the game”. It is therefore possible that specific optimizations may occur, particularly for the Switch2which will also host the game.
A postponed, but promising release
Originally scheduled for March 2026, 007 First Light has been postponed to the end of May. This delay seems to have allowed the developers to refine the product, both technically and narratively. The studio promises cinematic gameplay with more immersive storytelling, and a modernized “Bond” atmosphere.
On the casting side, a big surprise: Lenny Kravitz will play the main villain of the game. IO Interactive hopes to attract fans of the franchise as well as fans of high-end video game productions.
