Imagine: an entire weekend to explore a medieval kingdom at war, rob banks in Rockay City, design crazy cars or play as a space bandit… all without spending a cent. This is what Xbox is offering from today with five games to discover for free on console, as part of its weekly Free Play Days initiative.
This new batch of limited-time games is aimed at all Xbox players, with or without a Game Pass subscription. Only one exception should be noted: Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is only accessible to Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate subscribers. The other titles are playable freely until Monday, November 10 at 8:59 a.m. But be careful, Wild Bastards is limited to two hours of trial.
An ambitious role-playing game for Game Pass subscribers: Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
One of the most immersive experiences in the selection is undoubtedly Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. This open-world RPG transports us to the heart of the 15th century in a Bohemia shaken by civil war. The player plays Henry de Skalice, an ordinary young man whose destiny changes after a family tragedy.
This second opus deepens the universe of the first with even more realistic settings, in-depth interactions and a tale of revenge tinged with betrayals. The developers promise “an unforgettable adventure full of action, emotion and wonders”, going “from the forge of a forgotten village to the court of Kings”.
The offer allows you to freely explore the game throughout the weekend. And good news: progress is retained in the event of a purchase. Promotions are also applied on the Microsoft Store.
Heists, cars and fights: 4 other games accessible to all
Even without Game Pass, several very different games can be tested until Monday morning, each in a very distinct style.
1. Crime Boss: Rocky City
In this fictional city in full criminal turmoil, you play the role of a rising gang leader. The game allows you to choose your difficulty, customize your boss, and chain together heists in solo or 4-player co-op. According to the official blurb: “Choose from a variety of heists and heists, climb the ranks of the underworld and become the crime boss of Rockay City.”
A formula that mixes storyline, random missions and cross-play cooperative modes to spice up the clashes.
2. Trailmakers
This construction game stands out for its total freedom. On land, at sea or in the air, you assemble your own vehicles using blocks and engines to traverse varied environments. The “Pioneers” campaign mode adds a common thread with missions and fights against BOTNAKs. The experience is enhanced by a sandbox mode and a community editor where you can share and download other players’ creations.
3. Big Helmet Heroes
A colorful, cooperative and family beat’em up, in which we play adorable knights to the rescue of a princess. The game is distinguished by its very well-crafted animations and its rhythmic confrontations. According to its designers, it “pushes the boundaries of animation” with “state-of-the-art graphics” making each fight “incredibly gripping.”
4. Wild Bastards
For those who want to experience a radically different atmosphere, Wild Bastards combines strategy, rogue-lite and space shootouts. Imagined by the creators of Void Bastardsthis title features a gang of outlaws hunted across planets, each with their own skills and arsenal. The player must “recruit, manage and shoot with a team of 13 outlaws”, with the objective of “finding and resurrecting the former members of the gang and fleeing to the mythical Domain”.
The two-hour limit imposes quick choices, but the universe hooks you from the first minutes.
A good deal not to be missed for Game Pass subscribers
In addition to this free operation, a very aggressive promotion on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is still active. By using the code “XboxyCore”, players can get a year’s subscription for €100 instead of €324. This amounts to €7.5/month instead of €26.99/month, a significant reduction to take advantage of the entire Xbox, Cloud and PC ecosystem.
