New details about the upcoming anime adaptation were announced today on the official X account of “Blade & Bastard”. You can find a first teaser below.
Start next year
“Blade & Bastard” will therefore start as a series on Japanese television next year. A specific start date is currently still pending. We will keep you updated about this as usual.
The Xingfu studio is responsible for the production of the anime, with Tomoki Kobayashi (“A Nobody’s Way Up to an Exploration Hero”) directing and Naruhisa Arakawa (“ISLAND”) writing the script. Rina Iwamoto (Animation Director on “Mashle”) contributes the design of the characters.
The main roles of the Japanese voice cast include Makoto Furukawa (Benimaru in “TenSura”) as Iarumas, Tomori Kusunoki (Makima in “Chainsaw Man”) as Garbage and Daiki Yamashita (Izuku Midoriya in “My Hero Academia”) as Raraja.
The original light novel of the same name by “Goblin Slayer” author Kumo Kagyuu has been published since December 2022 with illustrations by so-bin. A manga adaptation by Makoto Fuugetsu has been appearing on the “DreComics” website since June 2024.
