According to information exclusives collected by Insider GamingThe Island mode, first introduced in WWE 2K25, will return in WWE 2K26. The particularity of this return? A new original story which is a continuation of the narrative ending of the previous episode.
This narrative mode was one of the most notable additions to WWE 2K25, offered on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2, and it gave players the opportunity to experience a much more immersive adventure than traditional wrestling careers. Although availability on PC is still unknown this year, WWE 2K26 should gradually reveal more details as its release approaches.
An island in chaos and a power struggle
In WWE 2K26, The Island’s story will focus on a power struggle between three distinct factions who are vying for control of the Island of Relevance. This situation results directly from the disappearance of Roman Reigns as Tribe Leader — an important storyline element that completely restarts the dynamic of the mode.
One of the factions involved is already called theOrder of Anarchywhich suggests a dark and conflicting tone for the sequel. Players can therefore expect a deeper story, structured around internal rivalries, power grabs, and intense challenges that influence the mode’s narrative progression.
Availability, platforms and upcoming new features
When it first appeared in WWE 2K25, The Island was available on last-gen consoles but not on PC. For WWE 2K26, it has not yet been confirmed whether this feature will be accessible on PC at launch, although it remains possible over time or through later updates.
The sources also indicate thatduring the yearseveral pieces of content will be added to WWE 2K26. These include new cosmetic elements, additional wrestlers, and possibly other narrative modes or challenges linked to The Island to enrich the player experience over the months.
