Warner Bros Games promises the return of its big licenses in 2027-2028, Hogwarts Legacy 2 in sight?

The plans until the arrival of a new owner

It will not have escaped you that the year 2026 is very calm for Warner Bros Games apart from a LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight which should still bring in a nice financial windfall. This is due to a reorganization of the gaming division and the cancellation of several projects, including the Wonder Woman game from a Monolith studio which was also buried. And the prospect of the group’s takeover does not help much in planning many long-term plans, since we do not know whether the future buyer will want to continue to invest in Warner Bros Games.

In all this chaos, JB Perrette promises, however, that the fruits of the hard work of the remaining studios at Warner Bros Games can be seen as early as next year, or in 2028 :

The real results will start to be felt in 2027-2028, when we return with some of our biggest licenses. »

Among these large licenses, the one that immediately comes to mind is of course Hogwarts Legacythe Harry Potter RPG with 30 million sales. A Hogwarts Legacy 2 has been in the works for some time now, and this statement suggests that it could release in the 2027-2028 fiscal year. It also remains to be seen whether this period could be the right time for Batman’s return to Rocksteady, even if it seems a little early.
