Toy manufacturer brings “Evangelion” scene to life


Just in time for Christmas, Takara Tomy and “Neon Genesis Evangelion” announce a new collaboration that focuses on a particularly well-known scene. We have summarized all the details for you below.

Operation Yashima

As part of the cooperation, toy manufacturer Takara Tomy is bringing two new “Evangelion” items onto the market, which appear under the successful brands Plarail and Shinkalion. Both products are based on Operation Yashima from the film Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone« and implement this scenically.

The Plarail set contains the JNR class DD51 locomotive and the Shiki class 880 heavy-duty wagons along with the three ultra-high voltage transformers. The transformable 500 Type EVA Positron Form is released under the Shinkalion label. Release is scheduled for December 6, 2025.

The Plarail set will cost 4,950 yen (around 28 euros) and the Shinkalion set will cost 7,920 yen (around 45 euros). You can find the first pictures under these lines.

In this country, the “Neon Genesis Evangelion” series and films are available on Netflix, while Prime Video has the four-part “Rebuild of Evangelion” film series in its program. A disc release was carried out by the publisher LEONINE Anime.
