The Turbo Wildcard will arrive on April 21 on consoles and PC

A Vampire who will still suck our time

With Vampire Crawlerswe are no longer talking about a real-time auto-shooter, but of a game that mixes deckbuilding, turn-based combat and roguelite elements, while retaining this logic of progressive increase in power which made the success of the original game. The title will allow us to explore dungeons, eliminate monsters, collect treasures and build increasingly powerful card combinations.

The studio explains that the system is based on the sequence of cards in an increasing order of mana, each action reinforcing the next. The objective is clearly to create excessive combos, in a spirit faithful to Vampire Survivorsbut with a more tactical approach.

The game will also allow the choice of rhythm. You can take your time to think about each turn, or on the contrary play very quickly, without this changing the precision of the result. Poncle insists precisely on this idea of a system which can be both strategic and nervous depending on the way in which we wish to approach it. Dungeon exploration will also have an important place. The studio promises levels filled with treasure, interactions and even, as it humorously points out, “functional walls” compared to Vampire Survivors.

It remains to be seen whether this deckbuilder shift will appeal to the majority of fans of the original game.

Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard will be available on April 21 on PS5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC at a price of €9.99. iOS and Android versions are also planned, but they will arrive later.
