Multiplayer, overhaul of the construction system, revisited economy…
Via its official website, Endless Legend 2 details the contributions of this update. Among the most important new features, we first note the arrival of multiplayer, now accessible directly from the main menuwithout going through a beta branch. The teams also invite players to report any problems encountered in order to improve the stability of the online mode.
Another major change, the new logic of district construction. Deemed confusing by part of the community, it was redesigned to be closer to the studio’s previous titles. Now, we first choose the type of district, the game then suggests an optimal location, before letting us decide on the exact terrain. The system also takes into account synergies allowing other nearby districts to evolve.
Furthermore, Necrophages benefit from a significant economic overhaul. Some special districts can now be built instantly in exchange for corpses, forcing sharper choices between economic development and military improvement depending on the studio. Diplomacy is also evolving with the introduction of temporary treaties, limited to 30 turns, and new interactions such as compliments and warnings. This gives you more direct levers to influence relations between factions.
Adjusted aspects, heroes and pace of play
Still in terms of faction, Aspects benefit from a series of improvements strengthening their diplomatic and symbiotic identity:
- Coral tiles now provide +1 food
- Corruption spreads less quickly but more strategically
- Some structures benefit from doubled adjacency bonuses
- The faction is completely abandoning the “Dust” districts in favor of a model based on influence and growth.
The heroes also have their balance revisedwith a refocusing of equipment on effects and skills rather than raw damage. Finally, new gaming speeds appear, ranging from 200 to 400 turns, while world generation is adjusted to space out factions further apart at the start.
Endless Legend 2 is available in early access on PC via Steam. The update is available today on Valve’s platform. No release date has been communicated regarding the official release in 1.0.
