The upcoming anime series “Kagurabachi” is already attracting a lot of attention – both within the community and among the creators. We summarize.
Trailer with a strong start
Just a few days after the official announcement of “Kagurabachi,” the first trailer has already achieved impressive numbers and underlined the enormous interest in the anime adaptation, which is scheduled to air in April 2027.
The video, which was only 45 seconds long, was viewed several million times on various platforms in the first few hours after its publication, with a majority of the views coming from X (formerly Twitter).
After five days, it has over six million views there, while at least 2.5 million views have been generated across multiple language versions on YouTube.
High pressure
In view of the huge hype, director Tetsuya Takeuchi (“From Bureaucrat to Villainess”) personally commented on the upcoming implementation and spoke openly about the challenges associated with it.
That’s what he feels “a lot of pressure”as the fans’ expectations are correspondingly high, but that would only motivate him even more.
In addition, he promised to implement the central elements of the original – including action-packed sword fights, striking characters and intense dramaturgy – as faithfully as possible in order to appeal to both long-time readers of Takeru Hokazono’s manga and new viewers with the anime adaptation.
Whether “Kagurabachi” can meet the great expectations will probably only become clear in around eleven months. We will continue to keep you informed about all developments.
