Steam Offers New Free Vampire RPG, Players Are Impressed

Steam continues to enrich its catalog of free games, and this time, fans of dark fantasy and vampires could well find what they are looking for. On February 21, 2026, Early Morning Studio launched Vampire’s Fall 2 on Steam, a completely free 2D turn-based RPG, which is already attracting PC players.

A sequel to Vampire’s Fall: Origins, this new opus takes place hundreds of years later. Good news: you don’t need to have played the first episode to enjoy it. Accessible to newcomers, the game already has 85% “very positive” reviews on Steam at the time of writing.

Vampire’s Fall 2, a free dark fantasy RPG on Steam

Developed by Early Morning Studio, Vampire’s Fall 2 is presented as a 2D dark fantasy RPG. The official synopsis announces: “Vampire’s Fall 2 invites you to dive back into a dark and haunting universe, thus perpetuating the legacy of the dark fantasy role-playing game Vampire’s Fall: Origins”

The plot takes place two centuries after the events of the first game. The world is dominated by vampires, while humans are reduced to the state of slaves or simple food. The player explores a hand-designed open world, completes quests, and develops a customizable character.

A strategic turn-based combat system

The core gameplay relies on a challenging turn-based combat system. The developers explain: “Attacks, skills, and the use of HP and MP potions consume turns, forcing you to weigh risks and rewards. Success relies on planning, resource management, and adaptation to each enemy’s strengths.”

The game features nine main weapon types and four skill trees: Anger, Deception, Control, and Vitality. Each tree offers a different approach, ranging from direct aggression to a more defensive and calculated strategy. A PvP mode is also available for players wishing to face other opponents outside of the main quests.

Microtransactions, but without obligation

Although Vampire’s Fall 2 is free to play, it has optional microtransactions. The PC version available on Steam does not contain advertisements or mandatory paid content. In-app purchases are used to accelerate progression, but remain optional.

Very positive reviews from the launch

At the time of publication, 85% of reviews are rated “very positive” on Steam. “After four hours of play, I think it’s a fun game. A relaxing turn-based RPG » “This game is really charming. His storyline is gripping and funny. There we find a mixture of Diablo and V Rising. You can either farm or follow the main quests. I couldn’t wait to explore and discover what’s next.”

“The only slight downside is that chests sometimes appear randomly. This is what people consider “pay-to-win”. You do NOT need to purchase shards to progress in the game. Ignore the chests. With a little practice, you can easily purchase equipment from merchants using in-game gold.”

Available now on Steam, Vampire’s Fall 2 stands out as a solid option for players looking for a free, strategic, dark fantasy-oriented RPG.
