Square Enix previews Final Fantasy VII Remake on Switch 2 and Xbox Series versus PC and PS5 versions

The game of VII errors

the Japanese publisher has published a new video which offers a direct comparison between all versions of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade (or almost, since the Xbox Series S is missing). We thus see the Switch 2 version in action (in docked mode), just like the Xbox Series X version, with the very first sequence of the game in which Cloud performs his iconic descent from the train.

And we’re not going to lie, it’s difficult to discern real differences here even when you want to be picky. Square Enix said it, it made sure to work well on the lighting so that a console like the Switch 2 version does not suffer from the comparison, and the work seems successful. However, it remains to compare everything when the fights start, but the first feedback about the port to the Nintendo console seems very encouraging for the moment.

As a reminder, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will be available on Switch 2 and Xbox Series from January 22, 2026.
