Red Dead Redemption 2: an update PS5 and Xbox Series makes players tremble

One would have thought that the expectation had killed hope, but it was only enough for a detail on Steam to ignite the community. Red Dead Redemption 2, the masterpiece of Rockstar Games, could finally receive its long-awaited update for new generation consoles. For years, players have been claiming a PS5 and Xbox Series version capable of running the game at 60 frames per second. This time, the index seems too big to be ignored.

A recent modification of the Steam file has put the chip in the ear: the description of the game has been rewritten, a first in years. The game resources have also been adjusted. Nothing has yet been confirmed by Rockstar Games, but why touch up the presentation of the title if no evolution was planned? This simple question was enough to awaken the enthusiasm of fans … and a good dose of skepticism.

A long-awaited Next-Gen update

This is not the first time that rumors of a Next-Gen version has been circulating. Since the release of the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series, part of the community dreams of a more fluid, clearer, more immersive Red Dead 2. The Holy Grail? Reach 60 FPS, with why not a few enhanced textures and modern graphic options.

For some, even a simple improvement in the framerate would be enough to relaunch a new part. Others fear above all the return of an aggressive trade policy. As a user sums up on X (ex-Twitter): “I just hope it will not be something at 60 dollars for those who already have the game, haha, but let’s go.”

With GTA VI in the pipes, the players hope that Rockstar took the opportunity to offer a second life to one of its most acclaimed titles. The attention could now focus on the next Take-Two call conference, where an official announcement could fall.

Red Dead 2, always more alive

While waiting for confirmation, some are rediscovering the game in their own way. On Reddit, a player confides: “I played without Minicarte and it’s a wonderful experience.” A way of fully reconnecting to the world of Far West, in total immersion. Proof that Red Dead Redemption 2 does not need a revolution to continue to captivate.

While rumors swell, one thing is certain: the slightest movement of Rockstar is now scrutinized. And this time, all the signals point to a Next-Gen update which has never seemed so close.
