Beast Quest PS4 on the PS Store: what RPG are we talking about exactly?

Released on PS4 on March 15, 2018, developed by Torus Games and edited by Maximum Entertainment, Beast Quest transposes the universe of the youth saga of Adam Blade. We follow Tom in the kingdom of Avantiaresponsible for freeing the Beasts controlled by the magician Malvel. The game is playable for one player, fully offline, compatible PS5with texts in French.

The official description promises an “epic action adventure to save the kingdom of Avantia from ruin.” In fact, it is a linear action RPG with a dated production, close to the end of the PS3 generation. Push Square gave it 3 out of 10, when the players of the PS Store French give it 3.26 out of 5 for 494 reviews.

Beast Quest for €2 on PS4 and PS5: for whom does the purchase make sense?

In terms of content, allow around 10 hours to complete the story taking your time, and around 5 hours to obtain the Platinum trophy according to estimates by PlayStation LifeStyle. The difficulty remains very affordable, with simple combat and guided progression, which makes it accessible even to a young audience.

At €1.99, Beast Quest speaks above all to parents looking for a no-brainer adventure game for children, to players nostalgic for their primary school readings, and to trophy hunters looking for a quick and cheap Platinum. On the other hand, if you are aiming for a big, spectacular modern RPG, it is better to pass.
