PS Plus offers a cult RPG with more than 100 hours, don’t miss it

PlayStation Plus continues to enrich its catalog with a highly anticipated new game. Starting March 17, Extra and Premium level subscribers will be able to download Persona 5 Royal for free, an enhanced version of the famous RPG originally released in 2016.

The title will be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, alongside other games added to the service that same day. For many gamers, this is one of the most notable releases of the month on the Sony platform.

Persona 5 Royal is coming to PlayStation Plus for free

Persona 5 Royal is an enhanced version of the game Persona 5, developed by Atlus and published by Sega. This turn-based RPG immerses players in an adventure combining school life, exploration and strategic combat.

The player takes on the role of Joker, a high school student who joins a secret group known as the Phantom Thieves. These vigilantes possess the ability to explore a supernatural universe that coexists with modern Tokyo. In this parallel world, they face enemies and infiltrate palaces representing the corrupt desires of certain people.

Persona 5 Royal adds many elements to the original game, including new characters, additional areas, and gameplay improvements that enrich the overall experience.

Persona 5 Royal, a gigantic RPG of more than 100 hours

If Persona 5 Royal attracts so much attention, it is also because of its impressive lifespan. The specialist site How Long To Beat estimates that it takes an average of 123 hours to complete the game by combining the main story and secondary activities. Players who simply want to follow the main story can complete the adventure in approximately 101 hours.

Those looking to experience the majority of the side content will need around 123 hours, while perfectionist players may be able to exceed 141 hours to see everything. The guide also states: “It will take you approximately 12 weeks to complete Persona 5 Royal if you play 1.5 hours per day focusing on additional content.”

An award-winning cult RPG available in several games

The success of Persona 5 has far exceeded that of many contemporary JRPGs. Upon release, the original game won several awards, including Best RPG at The Game Awards. Since then, the Persona 5 universe has developed through several spin-off games. Persona 5 Strikers features an action-oriented combat system with hack-and-slash gameplay. For its part, Persona 5 Tactica adopts a strategic approach inspired by games like XCOM.

New PlayStation Plus games for March

Persona 5 Royal won’t be the only game added to the PlayStation Plus catalog on March 17. Extra level subscribers will also be able to access several other titles:

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
Madden NFL 26
Metal Eden
The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria
Astroneer
Blasphemous 2

Premium subscribers will also receive an additional classic: Tekken: Dark Resurrection. With this new wave of games, Sony continues to strengthen the appeal of its subscription service by offering recent titles and very complete RPGs.
