Pokémon ZA: how to unlock all the Mega Gems to evolve your Pokémon

In Pokémon Legends ZAMega Evolutions are making their comeback. And who says Mega-Evolution, necessarily says Mega-Gems. These precious stones, once associated with their compatible Pokémon, trigger a spectacular transformation in the middle of battle. You still have to manage to collect them all.

Between main quests, specific objectives, shops and the Mega Shard exchange system, the ways to obtain them are numerous… but sometimes obscure. Some gems depend on your starter, others on your progress in the story, or even on your rank in ranked combat. Still others are reserved for additional content such as the Mega-Dimension DLC.

Three main ways to unlock Mega Gems

In Pokémon ZA, obtaining Mega Gems is based on three major mechanismswhich you will need to master to complete your collection.

1. Progress through the main missions

Several Mega Gems are directly linked to key stages of the scenario. Simply complete certain specific missions and they will be automatically added to your inventory or available for trade. For example :

  • There Cameruptite drops after mission 12.
  • There Absolute is unlocked from mission 9.
  • There Zygarditeshe is earned at the very end of the adventure, during mission 37.

Other gems are associated with starting Pokémon:

  • If you chose Germignonyou will recover the Meganiumite to mission 10.
  • If you took Gruikuiyou will get the Roitiflamite.
  • And if you opted for Kaiminusthere Aligatueurite waiting for you at the same stage.

These gems also become available for purchase later in the game.

2. Buy gems in the Jewels of Kalos store

Located in Illumis, the boutique Jewels of Kalos sells some iconic Mega Gems, including:

  • There Charizard X And Y
  • There Garchomp
  • There Tortankite
  • There Scizorite
  • There Blizzarite
  • There Ectoplasmitis

The price varies according to rarity, oscillating between 50,000 and 100,000 ₽. Please note, not all of them are available at the same time, you sometimes have to progress to see certain items appear in the store’s inventory.

3. Exchange Mega Shards at Quazar Society Tower

This method is essential for the majority of gems. THE Mega Shards are a resource to collect in-game (via activities, missions or rewards), which you can exchange at the Quazar Tower against the following gems:

  • 180 shards : Roucarnagite, Demolossite, Branettite, etc.
  • 240 shards : Lucarite, Gardevoirite, Golgopathite, etc.
  • 360 shards : Alakazamite, Drattakite, Metalossite, etc.

The rarer or more powerful the gem, the higher the shards cost.

Special cases and gems with special conditions

Certain objects require additional effort or a particular context:

  • Mega Raichu X and Y : only available via Mega-Dimension DLC.
  • Floettite : usable only with Floette Eternal Flowerand does not work on other forms.
  • Amphinolite, Goupelinite, Blindepiquite : these gems are linked to ranked fight seasons. You have to reach a specific rank to unlock them.
  • Distribution of Tarsal : necessary to obtain the Gardevoirite or the Gallamite if you have not completed mission 25.

Some Pokémon even receive several conditions of obtaining, like Brutapod, which requires both a mission completed (the 25th) And Mega Shards.

The Most Expensive or Hard to Obtain Mega Gems

Among the long list of Mega Gems (more than 70 in total), a few stand out for their rarity or high cost:

  • Alakazamite, Galekingite, Drattakite, Metalossite, Draieulite : all cost 360 Mega Shardsa significant investment.
  • Zygardite : only after the final mission.
  • Raichu X/Y : linked to additional content (DLC).
  • Goupelinite Or Blindepiquite : require reaching a high competitive level online.

Conversely, certain gems like Ectoplasmitis, Scizorite, Charminite Or Blizzarite are sold at an affordable price (50,000 ₽), as long as you have progressed sufficiently in the story.

Keep these tips in mind

  • Start accumulating Mega Shards as early as possible : they are necessary for the majority of gems.
  • Complete side missions : several Mega Gems are attached to it without being announced.
  • Watch for special events : Some distributions may offer Pokémon directly holding their Mega Gem.
  • Optimize your exchanges at the Quazar Tower : Make your priorities according to your main team.
