Teracrystal raids represent one of the most popular content in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet today. These temporary events regularly offer players the opportunity to face particularly powerful creatures, often much more formidable than those encountered during the main adventure.
A new challenge has just appeared for trainers on Nintendo Switch. For a limited time, an emblematic Pokémon from the license is available in a 7-star raid, the highest difficulty level offered in the game.
A special raid puts Laggron in the spotlight in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
From March 6 to 13, 2026, players can attempt to defeat and capture Laggron in Pokémon Scarlet & Purple. This creature is not unknown to fans of the series since it constitutes the final evolution of Gobou, the Water type starter introduced in Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire.
7-Star Raids are designed to be a real strategic challenge. The Pokémon that appear there are generally level 100 and have particularly powerful attacks. In this context, Laggron becomes a formidable opponent who requires careful preparation before starting the fight. Players will therefore have to analyze their strengths, resistances and weaknesses in order to build a team capable of withstanding their attacks.
The characteristics of the Laggron offered in this event
The Laggron present in this raid has several particularities which make the fight even more complex. It retains its dual Water and Ground types, a combination well known to players for its many resistances. This configuration, for example, makes it completely immune to electrical attacks, which can surprise inexperienced trainers.
To further complicate the situation, this Pokémon also has a Poison-type Teracrystal. This detail modifies certain combat interactions and can make certain strategies much less effective than intended.
The Pokémon also uses several powerful attacks capable of quickly putting teams in difficulty. Among the abilities observed during the fight are Hydrocannon, Earthquake, Aqua-Breach and Cradovague. With this type of offensive arsenal, fights can quickly turn upside down if players do not properly coordinate their actions.
The best strategies to hope to defeat Laggron
Despite his power, Laggron still has a major weakness that players can exploit. Its dual Water and Ground types make it extremely vulnerable to Grass-type attacks. This weakness is especially important because Grass-type attacks deal quadruple damage against this Pokémon. Using this type of attack therefore remains one of the most effective methods for quickly reducing your life bar.
Certain Pokémon are particularly suited to this type of battle. Creatures like Florizarre, Rafflesia or Empiflor have attacks capable of fully exploiting this weakness.
However, players will need to remain careful. Laggron’s Poison Teracrystal can pose a serious threat to Pokémon that specialize in Grass-type attacks. A balanced team therefore remains essential to avoid unpleasant surprises. In this type of raid, cooperation between several players can also play a decisive role. Raids allow you to face Pokémon as a team, which makes it easier to manage damage and defensive capabilities.
A limited event for Nintendo Switch players
As with most 7-star raids, this event will only be available for a short time. Players therefore have until March 13 to try to capture this special Laggron. Another important rule concerns capturing the Pokémon. Each player will only be able to catch it once per copy of the game. Once captured, it will no longer be possible to obtain a second Laggron via this raid on the same save.
However, players can continue to participate in combat even after capturing it. This allows you to collect additional rewards or help other trainers succeed in the raid.
To access these advanced raids, it is also necessary to have completed the main story of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. This condition ensures that players already have a team strong enough to face this type of challenge. With this new event, Pokémon Scarlet & Violet continues to offer trainers regular activities, helping to extend the life of the game on Nintendo Switch.
