PlayStation Plus: a leak suggests the imminent arrival of two huge RPGs

Subscription services like PlayStation Plus continue to attract gamers by regularly adding new titles to their catalog. Each month, Sony enriches its service with a selection of games intended for different subscription levels. These additions allow players to discover new experiences without having to purchase each title individually.

Recently, a particularly interesting rumor began to circulate regarding the programming of PlayStation Plus for April 2026. According to several discussions relayed on social networks, two major RPGs could soon join the service.

Two major RPGs mentioned in a leak

The information comes from a message shared on social media and spotted by members of the community. According to these rumors, Final Fantasy XVI And Dragon’s Dogma II could be added to the PlayStation Plus catalog. These two games are among the most notable RPGs released in recent years. Developed by Square Enix, Final Fantasy XVI offers an epic adventure combining spectacular combat and cinematic storytelling.

For his part, Dragon’s Dogma IIdeveloped by Capcom, offers a vast open world filled with quests, creatures and dynamic combat systems. If these titles actually came to PlayStation Plus, they would be one of the most significant additions to the service.

The RPG, an ideal genre for subscription services

The RPG genre has a particularity that makes it particularly suitable for subscription platforms. Most of these games feature long campaigns, often accompanied by numerous side missions and additional activities. Players can thus spend dozens, even hundreds of hours in a single game.

This wealth of content significantly increases the perceived value for subscribers. When this type of game is added to a service like PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass, players have the opportunity to discover very complete adventures without additional investment. This is one of the reasons why there is often a lot of excitement about the arrival of major RPGs in these services.

Games very well received by critics

The two titles mentioned in the leak were widely praised when they were released. Final Fantasy XVIlaunched in 2023, received an average rating of 87 on Metacritic. The game was particularly appreciated for its dark universe, its dynamic combat system and its spectacular setting.

Dragon’s Dogma IIreleased in 2024, also received a very positive reception with a rating of 86 on Metacritic. Critics particularly praised its open world, the freedom offered to players and its unique system of companions called “pawns”. These excellent reviews are why these games remain very popular among RPG enthusiasts.

Rumors still to be taken with caution

Despite the enthusiasm generated by this information, it is important to remember that these are only rumors for the moment. Sony has yet to officially confirm the list of games that will be added to PlayStation Plus in April. It is also not specified at what subscription level these games might be available. The levels PlayStation Plus Extra And PlayStation Plus Premium seem like the most likely options though, as they usually include the most recent games.

Some community members also reacted to these rumors on social media. For example, one player explains: “One or the other would already suit me. Both at the same time, it would be huge.” For now, we will have to wait for an official announcement from Sony to find out if these RPGs will really join the PlayStation Plus catalog.
