Nintendo Switch 2: an unlikely free exclusive to download now for Halloween

Going against the traditional horror games that invade consoles as Halloween approaches, Nintendo chooses humor and the absurd. Since October 29, Nintendo Switch 2 owners can download the demo for free SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide on the eShop.

The full game, scheduled for November 18, features SpongeBob and Patrick in a supernatural adventure, between sea ghosts and underwater chaos. This demo offers access to the first levels of the game, with all new character abilities. Enough to get a clear idea before the official release.

A Halloween that’s more fun than terrifying

Certainly, SpongeBob is not a horror film, but the atmosphere of the game fits perfectly with the season: specters, King Neptune, Flying Dutchman… a whole crazy and slightly frightening universe. The official synopsis of the game sets the tone:

“When the egos of the Flying Dutchman and King Neptune collide, the result is total underwater chaos: spectral chaos spreads across Bikini Bottom, and only two more or less courageous heroes can restore order. »

Players will explore iconic locations like Neptune’s Palace and Mount Bikini, battle bosses, and combine the skills of Bob and Patrick to save their world.

A Switch 2 exclusive, not for all players

Be careful though: this demo is only available on Nintendo Switch 2. Players with the first Switch will have to wait – no release on this console has been announced yet.

For others, simply go to the Nintendo eShop from the Switch 2 to start the download for free. The opportunity to discover this new original adventure, alone or with family, without thrills… but with a smile.
