While gamers are still debating the choice between PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo, a Chinese YouTuber has decided to no longer choose. Under the pseudonym 小宁子 XNZ, he designed a crazy project: bringing together the three main home consoles in a single device. The result, dubbed “Ningtendo PXBOX 5,” is a one-of-a-kind console.
The case, inspired by the cubic design of the Xbox Series X, features a white 3D printed finish. But it’s not just a beautiful shell: inside, this technological monster contains the heart of every system. A technical feat achieved without the help of development kits, by reverse engineering the official consoles to keep only the essentials.
A tinkered but functional architecture
The secret of this integration lies in the extreme simplification of the components. The creator removed all non-essential parts and original cooling systems. Instead, a single central fan draws air in from below to cool everything.
Each of the consoles retains its motherboard and critical components. Everything is powered by a single 250 watt power supply, considered sufficient to power a single system at a time. Because yes, you can only play one game at a time on a single platform. But switching from one to the other takes just three seconds thanks to an integrated switch button on the front.
A magic switch for three universes
This discreet button is undoubtedly the most impressive element of the device. With a simple press, it allows you to switch from Switch 2 to PS5 or Xbox Series X. An elegant solution that avoids juggling between cables, controllers or HDMI ports. This gain in comfort is aimed at those who already own the three consoles but want to avoid overloading their living room. Instead of stacking machines, the Ningtendo PXBOX 5 centralizes the experience.
An inaccessible prototype… but inspiring
For ordinary people, this project will remain inaccessible. It requires skills in electronics, 3D printing, cooling and soldering. In addition, the combined cost of the three consoles far exceeds that of a high-end gaming PC. But the strength of this prototype lies elsewhere: it illustrates an anti-console war philosophy. Why pit players against each other when you can bring all the experiences together in a single machine? A gesture that is both technical and symbolic.
A nod to a bygone era
With the arrival of Switch 2 and increasingly interconnected multiplatform services, the boundary between ecosystems is blurring. The Ningtendo PXBOX 5 embodies this transition. Of course, it will never be commercialized. But it gives a glimpse of a future where technology will no longer serve a logo, but the user.
