New dubbed version of “One Piece” launched on Netflix

The streaming service Netflix today added the first episodes of the “East Blue” saga of “One Piece” to its program. We summarize the details.

New synchronization

Episodes 1 to 16 of “One Piece” can now be streamed in a revised HD remaster version on Netflix. This version differs in both picture and sound from the version released on streaming competitor ADN and on Crunchyroll’s Blu-ray edition.

In the Netflix version, the image remains cropped from the original 4:3 format to 16:9, but is noticeable due to a visibly more intense soft focus. There is also a completely new German dubbing.

This was recorded under the direction of Daniel Hülse, who also voices the protagonist, and Marie-Jeanne Widera in the Transperfect Media Germany studio.

Compared to the first German version, the dialogue book was completely rewritten and more closely aligned with the Japanese original, which resulted in numerous name and terminology adjustments. However, the main cast remained.

Episodes 17 to 31 are scheduled to appear on December 15, 2025, and episodes 32 to 61 are currently scheduled to be available from January 15, 2026.
