It was announced today on the official X account of “My Hero Academia” that a new anime project based on the manga series by Kohei Horikoshi is currently in the works. We summarize the details below.
Release in summer 2026
The new anime project is a short film called “I am a hero too”, which is based on a bonus chapter from the “My Hero Academia: Ultra Age” fan book. Publication is scheduled for summer 2026.
Just today, the special episode “More,” which adapts additional chapter 431 of the original work, aired on Japanese television. Crunchyroll is now making this available on demand in German and Japanese language versions.
The completed “My Hero Academia” main series consists of eight seasons, of which the first seven seasons are already available on DVD and Blu-ray.
