Streaming service Netflix announced today that it will release a new original anime titled “Love Through a Prism” (Japanese: “Prism Rondo”) early next year. We summarize.
From January 2026
“Love Through a Prism” is a 20-part anime series based on a concept by Yoko Kamio (author of “Boys Over Flowers”) and will be released on Netflix on January 15, 2026 in German and Japanese, among other languages.
Studio WIT is responsible for the production, with Kazuto Nakazawa (“B: The Beginning”) and Tetsuya Takahashi (“Fena: Pirate Princess”) directing. The script is written by Yoko Kamio and Saki Fujii, while the character design is by Yasuko Takahashi (“Fena: Pirate Princess”).
The title song “star flower” is contributed by Chilli Beans and the music is produced by Naokinaotyu-Chiba. Tohru Kanegae serves as sound director.
The Japanese cast stars Atsumi Tanezaki (Freezing in Freezing) as Lili Ichijoin, Kouki Uchiyama (Lancelot in The Seven Deadly Sins) as Kit Church, Akari Kitou (Suzune in Classroom of the Elite) as Sakura Kobayakawa, Yuuki Kaji (Shouto Todoroki in My Hero Academia) as Shinnosuke Kobayakawa and Megumi Han (Kana Arima in “Oshi no Ko”) as Dorothy Brown.
