JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run – when is the sequel coming to Netflix

Fans of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run immediately responded on March 19, 2026, when Netflix posted online the 1st INTERNSHIP : a unique first episode of approximately 47 minutes, centered on Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli. Then, nothing more. For several weeks, the platform remained silent on the continuation of the race across the United States.

This silence quickly awakened the bad memories of Stone Oceandropped in blocks on Netflix with long months of waiting between each burst. Faced with the burst of messages and disturbing memes posted by the community, the platform finally clarified the situation: the rest is coming, but we will have to be patient.

Steel Ball Run on Netflix: after the 1st STAGE

THE 1st INTERNSHIP of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Runsign David Production based on the manga Hirohiko Arakiserved as an XXL prologue: around 47 minutes to install Johnny Joestar, Gyro Zeppeli and the transcontinental race, without the slightest planning. After it went live, only a trailer at AnimeJapan confirmed a sequel “in 2026”, then the silence caused fans to launch a disturbing meme campaign aimed at Netflix and the studio.

Steel Ball Run 2nd STAGE: when and how on Netflix?

The response came on April 6 via the account Netflix Anime on X. The platform announces that the sequel, entitled JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run 2nd STAGEis in production and “will be released in fall 2026 on Netflix, with a new episode every week”. This window applies to France, the series being a world exclusive Netflix.

Concretely, the 2nd INTERNSHIP corresponds to the first real course of weekly broadcast: it will include episode 2 and a block of additional episodes, the number of which has not yet been communicated. We speak of a “split courtyard” format when a season is divided into several segments spaced with long breaks, as here between March and autumn.

Steel Ball Run on Netflix: what awaits French fans

For the moment, no specific date for going online is official beyond “fall 2026”. Specialized sites suggest a recovery between September and October, or even until November, but these are projections. The exact date will be revealed closer to the deadline via Netflix Anime or the Tudum website.

In terms of experience for a French subscriber, Netflix promises one episode per week, probably available in VOSTFR upon release, the VF possibly arriving a little later as is often the case with anime. This weekly rhythm limits the risks of large diffusion gaps as for Stone Ocean and keeps the discussion going throughout the race.

There remains a major unknown: the number of courtyards necessary to adapt everything Steel Ball Run. Netflix claims that this distribution plan was planned from the beginning, without detailing the next INTERNSHIP. Fans will therefore have to watch for announcements once the 2nd INTERNSHIP launched in fall 2026.
