Here is the list of the best-selling games in France in 2025, with few surprises in the ranking

Always the same, with a few good surprises

We therefore start with the famous top 20 best-selling games in France in 2025, which was relayed by BFM. It is divided into two categories, one concerning the value reported by each title, and the other the volume of units sold. In both cases, the top 3 is almost the same, with a EA Sports FC 26 who is naturally champion, while Battlefield 6 And Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 bring up the rear (and a EA Sports FC 25 which continues to sell enormously).

We will mainly be interested in the ranking calculated according to the number of sales on consoles, more interesting here:

  1. EA Sports FC 26
  2. EA Sports FC 25
  3. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
  4. Battlefield 6
  5. Assassin’s Creed Shadows
  6. Pokémon Legends ZA
  7. Grand Theft Auto V
  8. Hogwarts Legacy
  9. Ghost of Yotei
  10. Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition
  11. Grand Theft Auto Online
  12. Red Dead Redemption 2
  13. Call of Duty Black Ops 6
  14. Split Fiction
  15. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  16. Super Mario Party Jamboree
  17. It Takes Two
  18. Chiaroscuro: Expedition 33
  19. Monster Hunter Wilds
  20. Donkey Kong Bananza

Apart from the regulars in the ranking, some good performances should be noted as Assassin’s Creed Shadows which manages to rise to a fairly important place, while Split Fiction is also a success in France. And how can we not note the place of Chiaroscuro: Expedition 33which is not only a success internationally.

A rising market after post-Covid normalization

Apart from this ranking, the SELL assessment evokes ano increase in total video game turnover in 2025, with 5.8 billion euros achieved, an increase of 2.9%. In fact, it is mainly thanks to the mobile market that the figure is increasing, thanks to an increase of 11% in this sector, where the PC and console market stagnates at the same level as in 2024 (even if the console market remains in the majority).

The physical market is still holding up in France where it represents 42% of saleswhich is a decrease, but in comparison with other European countries, this percentage is still very high. And if the public still buys boxes, they no longer hesitate to engage in microtransactions. The sale of these products and DLC has exploded, with an increase of 36% on PC and 51% on consoles, which can be explained quite easily by looking at the ranking of games sold (with many titles that have DLC) and the numerous free-to-play games at the moment.
