GTA 6 will be unplayable for millions when it releases in 2026

The craze around GTA 6 is indisputable. But behind the figures and the records, a disappointing reality: the game will not be available on PC at launch. Planned for November 19, 2026 on PS5 And Xbox SeriesRockstar’s flagship title will leave a huge part of its community behind.

And that’s no surprise. Fans of the franchise know: Rockstar Games has always taken time to release its games on PC. GTA 5 took 19 months to arrive on this platform, and Red Dead Redemption 2 had also experienced a delay of more than a year. GTA 6 only follows this logic… but in 2025, it goes worse and worse.

Growing frustration in the PC community

The reaction was quick. On forums like Reddit, the disappointment is palpable. “The wait is going to be unbearable,” confides one player. Others, more resigned, even anticipate a wait that could exceed two years. “Given that the release will be at the end of the console’s lifecycle, I imagine they’ll want to release an enhanced port for PS6 first.”

This lack of consideration for the PC platform raises questions, especially when we know that this community represents several million players worldwide, many of whom have supported the franchise since its inception.

An assumed strategy on the part of Rockstar

Rockstar Games has never been in a hurry to deliver its games to all platforms at the same time. This strategy allows maximize console saleswhile giving developers time to refine a PC version that is often more stable and better optimized.

But in the age of crossplay, cloud releases, and simultaneous ports, this method seems increasingly dated. A player exclaims on the networks: “Let them go to hell with their game. It’s no longer 2015, it’s 2025. Why play games without including the PC version?”. Others call for a more forceful reaction: “Boycott Rockstar”.

Buy a console… or wait until 2028?

Faced with this impasse, several players are considering a radical solution: buying a PlayStation 5 or a Xbox Series only for GTA 6. And Rockstar seems to know it.

The launch promises to be the most colossal in the history of video games. And even the most loyal PC gamers might end up giving in to the pressure. Because as it stands, there is nothing to indicate that GTA 6 will be released on PC before 2027, or even 2028.
