“Not all games are equal”
The design director of the first Saints Row returned to the subject of the potential price of GTA 6 during an interview with Esport Insider. While no one has yet confirmed Take-Two’s intentions, an imaginary price of $100 for the game seems to be floating around in the public’s mind, and that’s the price that was discussed in this interview. Many people are obviously not ready to accept such a price for a game, but according to Chris Stockman, GTA 6 deserves to be displayed at this price :
“ These are [Rockstar] the only ones who can get away with this. I don’t think this is a new standard that benefits everyone. I think there would be a huge backlash if everyone went to $100. Not all games are equal. I think GTA is the only one that can pull this off, and I hope it does. I really hope it’s $100. I think he deserves it. The scale of this production justifies this price, but not everything is treated the same way. It would be a disaster if everyone tried to match them. »
Even though the scale of the project is immense and the game will sell regardless of its price, there is no doubt that seeing GTA 6 selling at such a high price will mark a turning point for the industry. Something which, we remind you, is not yet confirmed, and it would be better to make sure not to accept this narrative right now, instead of encouraging it.
