Originally launched in 2010 on PS3, God of War III revolutionized action games with its titanic combat and violent, tragic storytelling. In 2015, Sony Santa Monica remastered it for the PS4 with HD graphics and a boosted framerate. This version is PS5 compatible, which allows you to (re)discover the game in the best current conditions. Currently, the PlayStation Store offers the game at €9.99 instead of €19.99. A Kratos more brutal than ever
In this episode, Kratos, the Ghost of Sparta, returns to face the gods of Olympus. Armed with his famous chained blades, he literally climbs Mount Olympus, massacring everything in his path. The game features a succession of legendary bosses, twisting puzzles and breathtaking action scenes. “Emerging from the depths of Hades, Kratos sets out to assault Mount Olympus to wreak his bloody vengeance,” summarizes the official description. An explosive mythological cocktail that hasn’t aged a bit.
Still solid critical reception
Upon its release, God of War III received a rating of 92/100 on Metacritic. The Remastered version was slightly less acclaimed, but maintains a nice average of 81/100. Fans especially highlight the technical improvement which makes the experience more fluid and enjoyable.
