Revealed at the opening of PlayStation’s latest State of Play, Ghost of Yotei Legends follows in the footsteps of Ghost of Tsushima Legends, the successful multiplayer DLC of 2020. Available at no additional cost to all Ghost of Yotei owners, this new content enriches the single-player experience with a dark and epic cooperative adventure.
A 4-player co-op mode facing the demons of Japanese folklore
The core of Ghost of Yotei Legends is a 4-player online co-op system. Together, the participants will have to face the six demonic Yotei: the Spider, the Kitsune, the Serpent and the Oni have been officially named.
Each of these enemies seems linked to a specific phase or level, in a style reminiscent of scripted raids. The atmosphere seems to borrow more from fantasy than from history, promising a dive into a dark mythology, where action and coordination will be key.
Four playable classes: a structure inherited from Tsushima
While gameplay details have not yet been fully revealed, everything indicates that Ghost of Yotei Legends will follow the multiplayer structure of Ghost of Tsushima Legends. The latter offered four classes: Samurai, Hunter, Ronin and Assassin.
It is therefore a safe bet that players will be able, here too, to choose between several archetypes of warriors each possessing specific abilities, attack styles, and skills to unlock.
The format could include two-person missions in narrative cooperation, but also four-person challenges in survival mode or assault on bosses, as in the previous expansion.
An imminent release and free content
Good news for players: Ghost of Yotei Legends will be released on March 10, 2026 and will be free for all owners of the base game. This approach reflects the loyalty strategy adopted by Sucker Punch since Ghost of Tsushima.
The DLC should also benefit from regular updates, including equipment, cosmetics and perhaps even new classes or enemies in the future.
With the latest update having already introduced a New Game + mode, Ghost of Yotei players are served. Legends promises to revitalize the community, perhaps awaiting the announcement of a PvP mode or an upcoming single-player title.
