The month of January continues strong for PC players: the Epic Games Store has a series of gifts, and this time, it’s a completely crazy game which arrives for free from January 22. Rustler – Grand Theft Horse offers a parody and medieval version of GTA, not to be missed if you like chaos.
For one week, from January 22 to 29, 2026, the game usually sold for $24.99 will be available at no cost. It is part of the series of free games launched this month by Epic Games, which has already offered Bloons TD 6 and the two parts of Styxdeveloped by the French studio Cyanide.
Rustler: medieval GTA on horseback
Originally released in 2021, Rustler – Grand Theft Horse is a nugget of open-world action seen from above. The concept: play a cattle thief in an absurd kingdom, where anachronism is king. Guns, horses, beatbox and Monty Python-style humor collide in free and frenetic gameplay.
You can wreak havoc in the streets, challenge knights, steal carriages, and even participate in tournaments to win gold. The experience is completely offbeat, and that’s precisely what makes it so charming.
Two bonus games to collect before January 22
While waiting for Rustler, two other games are available for free until January 22 at 5 p.m. (CET):
- Styx: Master of Shadows – a demanding stealth game where you play as a goblin assassin.
- Styx: Shards of Darkness – its direct sequel, offered in Deluxe version with all its additional content.
Both Cyanide titles are prequels to the game Of Orcs and Menand offer strategic gameplay based on stealth, planning and discretion.
A preview before the release of Styx: Blades of Greed
This free selection also sets the stage for Styx: Blades of Greedthe new opus scheduled for February 19, 2026. The latter promises a larger and more immersive experience, with three large infiltration areas, numerous secrets and alternative routes for each mission.
A free mobile game not to be missed either
In parallel, Dumb Ways to Die is also available for free on the Epic Games Store mobile application. This crazy game invites you to discover dozens of absurd ways to die, all against the backdrop of catchy music. It is available for Android worldwide, and for iOS only in Europe and Japan.
