Elden Ring: Nightreign will be entitled to DLC, FromSoftware confirms the news

While attention was focused on the Tarnished Edition of Elden Ring planned for Nintendo Switch 2, another project is moving forward in the shadows. FromSoftware has revealed, via Kadokawa Group’s latest financial results, that downloadable content is in the works for the Nightreign expansion. The DLC is expected to arrive by March 2026, before the end of the current fiscal year.

A DLC made official in the financial documents

It was through a report intended for investors, relayed by GamesRadar+, that the information was confirmed. FromSoftware is targeting increased sales of Elden Ring, including for Nightreign and its future expansions. The studio indicates that the spin-off performed better than its expectations, which justifies the upcoming arrival of additional content.

In other words, this DLC is not a total surprise: the critical and commercial success of Nightreign logically motivated the publisher to extend the experience.

What release schedule to expect?

The term “fiscal year 2025” is crucial. In the language of Japanese companies like Kadokawa, this means a window that ends on March 31, 2026. The DLC should therefore be released no later than this date, but it could arrive much sooner if development progresses quickly.

No official information has been communicated regarding its content, its price or the targeted platform. It is also unknown whether this will be a simple story expansion or a more ambitious addition comparable to Shadow of the Erdtree.

Other parallel projects at FromSoftware

This DLC is part of a broader development strategy. At the same time, the studio is working on Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, expected on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, and on The Duskbloods, a still mysterious project planned for the same year.

Even more surprising, a mobile game based on the manga Oshi no Ko is being prepared, with a release planned for 2026. Finally, on the cinema side, screenwriter and director Alex Garland has already written 160 pages for a future film adaptation of Elden Ring.

FromSoftware is therefore not slowing down, and fans of the Kingdom of Between-Earth can expect a busy schedule for the months to come.
