Publisher polyband anime announced today that it has secured the license for the anime film “Doukyuusei: Classmates”. We summarize.
Release in May 2026
According to current plans, the approximately one-hour film will appear on Blu-ray in May 2026 under the title “Doukyusei – In Love with My Classmate” in a limited digipak edition with a slipcase. As an extra there is a poster and an approximately 80-page book with an exclusive manga. Pre-ordering is not yet possible.
The studio A-1 Pictures was responsible for the production of the film, which premiered in Japan in February 2016, and was directed by Shouko Nakamura (storyboard of “Horimiya: The Missing Pieces”).
The original manga series of the same name written by Asumiko Nakamura was released in six volumes in Japanese stores between July 2006 and July 2007. In this country, Manga Cult published the work with a German translation.
