Dead Weight Prologue: the RPG nugget of 2026 begins on Steam, test it now

Navigating a world torn between technology and divinity is what Dead Weight offers, a turn-based tactical RPG that has all the cards in hand to mark 2026. Signed by Kluvka Games, the game places the player aboard a flying ship, ready to face hostile islands and mythological entities in an atmosphere that is both dark and stylized.

The demo currently available on Steam allows you to play Arn, a barbarian who crosses paths with the ancient gods. From the first minutes, the tone is set: you will have to sharpen your strategies as much as your blades.

A demanding XCOM-style combat system

The clashes take place on a grid, with turn-based combat reminiscent of references like Into the Breach or XCOM. Every move must be calculated, every placement can make the difference between a resounding victory and a crushing defeat.

In this prologue, players have access to the first major region of the game, where they will already be able to:

  • Upgrade their flying pirate ship
  • Customize their character
  • Unlock over 20 unique skills
  • Collect items, equipment and upgrades

All in a world where every choice seems to have weight, and where the fights are only one aspect of a much larger narrative universe.

A neat atmosphere for a world in ruins

The universe of Dead Weight is not just an aesthetic pretext. The story evokes a changing world, disrupted by the awakening of millennia-old creatures. Faced with these supernatural forces, the player will have to decide: confront them or follow their quest for forbidden knowledge?

This moral dimension, associated with rich lore, reinforces the promise of a mature and demanding RPG. Add to that an inspired artistic direction and an immersive soundtrack, and we understand why this title is already attracting attention.

One hour of free play to get an idea

The demo available on Steam does not exceed an hour, but it is more than enough to gauge the mechanics and atmosphere of the game. The developers have even taken care to include a few Steam achievements to unlock, to tickle the players’ instinct for completion.

Planned for first quarter 2026Dead Weight does not yet have a precise date, but this prologue suggests an ambitious adventure, between exploration, management, and crucial tactical choices.
